Renowned for her compelling presence on stage, Maria Guleghina stands out as the leading dramatic soprano of our time, earning accolades such as "the tops" and "the reigning diva" from critics like Andrew Porter in the Times Literary Supplement. Hailing from Russia, she is often dubbed the "Cinderella from Russia" and celebrated as a "Vocal Miracle," with Verdi's essence flowing through her veins.
Guleghina's repertoire showcases her exceptional versatility, ranging from iconic roles like Tosca and Turandot to Aida, Manon Lescaut, Norma, Fedora, and Adriana Lecouvreur. Her commanding voice, marked by power, warmth, and dramatic intensity, has graced prestigious opera houses worldwide.
Beginning her career at the State Opera in Minsk, Guleghina made a memorable debut at La Scala as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera opposite Luciano Pavarotti. Her association with La Scala includes performances in 15 new productions, touring Japan, and solo recitals. The Metropolitan Opera witnessed her debut in 1991, marking over 150 performances in various roles, from Tosca and Aida to Norma and Lady Macbeth.
Guleghina's Vienna State Opera debut in 1991 was followed by engagements at Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, where she performed Fedora and other acclaimed roles. Her debut at Arena di Verona in 1996 as Abigaille in Nabucco earned her the 'Prize of Giovanni Zanatello,' and she has since been a regular performer at this renowned venue.
Apart from her operatic achievements, Guleghina is actively involved in humanitarian causes. She collaborates with UNICEF to advocate for children impacted by poverty and conflict, emphasizing the need for global unity.
Throughout her illustrious career, Guleghina has performed in solo recitals across the globe, with numerous productions broadcast on radio and television. sopranos of our time». Veronika Dzhioeva, born in Tskhinval, South Ossetia, fulfilled her father's dream by becoming an opera singer. Her journey, guided by a childhood love for classical music, led her to the Vladikavkaz College of Arts “V. A. Gergiev” under the strict guidance of teacher Nelly Hestanova, and later the St. Petersburg Conservatory, mentored by Tamara Novichenko.
Her outstanding voice gained acclaim at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater and various competitions, including the Maria Callas Grand Prix, Glinka Competition, International Claudia Taev Competition, the World Vision International Competition, and the P.I. Tchaikovsky International Competition.
Masterclasses with opera legends Joan Sutherland and Maria Bieșu enhanced her artistry. Veronika's debut album, "Opera Arias," won the Big Opera television contest, catapulting her to prominence.
In 2014, Veronika was given the title of “People’s Artist” of Republic of South Ossetia, and Republic of North Ossetia Alania, and a nomination for the Golden Mask - "Best Actress Award" for her role as Elizabeth Valois at the Bolshoi Theater.
Today, Veronika Dzhioeva is a sought-after soprano globally, gracing stages worldwide. She performs as a guest singer, leading roles in the best world theaters, including Houston Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève, La Monnaie Theater, Prague State Opera, Finnish National Opera, Teatro Petruzzelli, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Real Teatro, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Staatsoper Hamburg, Bolshoi Theater, Mariinsky Theater, among others.
Her festivals in Ossetia and Moscow have become annual successes. In August 2015, Veronika presented her first festival in Ossetia. A year later, the festival was held in Moscow on the stage of the Novaya Opera and also on the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT) stage.
Known for her filigree performances, Veronika excels in diverse roles: from Elisabeth of Valois, Liu, Countess of the Wedding of Figaro, Donna Elvira, Gorislava, Micaela, Iolanthe, Tatyana, and many others. If I don't succeed, I should strive for it. Without this, it's not interesting to live for a musician living. I've always had a competitive spirit. Otherwise, my life was empty and bored."

Belarussian baritone Vladislav Sulimsky has rapidly become one of the leading singers in the world. Ever since his performance of Prince Kurljatew in Tchaikovsky’s Charodeyka (Enchantress) in Christof Loy’s production at the Theater an der Wien in 2014, Sulimsky gained a lot of international attention. In the summer of 2018, he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival as Tomsky (Pique Dame) under the baton of Mariss Jansons, followed by Count Luna (Il trovatore) at the Berlin State Opera, Jago (Otello) at the Vienna State Opera, and his role debut as Scarpia (Tosca) at the Malmö opera. He also made his house debut at the Munich State Opera with Count Luna and finally Macbeth in 2023 in the Barrie Kosky production at the Salzburg Festival.
As early as 2010, Sulimsky sang Enrico Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Mariinsky alongside Nathalie Dessay and Belcore in L’Elisir d´Amore with Anna Netrebko as Adina, followed by Giorgio Germont (La Traviata) and Robert in Iolanta. A frequent guest at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, he has performed Prince Kurlyatev in Enchantress by Tchaikovsky and his parade title role Eugen Onegin. In autumn 2012 Sulimsky made his Swedish opera debut at Malmö Opera as Miller in Verdi's Luisa Miller, followed by Renato in Un ballo in maschera at the Stockholm Royal Opera. He performed Ezio in Attila at the Mikkeli Festival in Finland under the baton of Valery Gergiev, and completed the season with a long European tour singing Ibn-Hakia alongside Anna Netrebko in Iolanta. His Eugene Onegin at the Malmö Opera under the baton of Michail Jurowski in 2015 was followed by his Swiss debut at the Basel theatre in the title role of Macbeth, and later on as Don Carlo de Vargas in La Forza del destino.
In 2016, Vladislav Sulimsky made a highly successful debut in his first Wagner role as Alberich in Das Rheingold at the Edinburgh Festival. His Frankfurt Opera debut was a scenic Tchaikovsky evening staged by Christof Loy. At the Berlin Philharmonic he sang in Rachmaninov’s Francesca da Rimini and the title role of Mazeppa conducted by Kyrill Petrenko.
